Robert MacIntyre
In the first round of the Made in HimmerLand tournament, the rising Scottish professional, Robert MacIntyre, was one stroke behind leader David Law. The Aberdonian has been in the top five for the past two years, and is currently competing in his first European Tour event. He is a little over a week after missing the cut at the US PGA Championship. MacIntyre admits to being frustrated with his own game and has had to be kinder and more patient with himself.
Last week, MacIntyre tied for 49th place at Kiawah Island, and in Denmark, he will compete at the Made in Himmerland event. He’ll be the second best lefty in the world, behind only Phil Mickelson. He shot a 2-under 69 on Thursday, making five birdies and three bogeys. While there’s no guarantee, it’s a good start.
Earlier this year, MacIntyre’s European Tour event was renamed to Made in HimmerLand. The tournament, which was originally hosted in Denmark, will return to the Himmerland Golf Resort & Spa. Wiesberger is defending his title from two years ago, when he reached 14 under. The course has hosted five of the six Made in Himmerland events.
The European Tour has ranked MacIntyre as one of the top five young players of 2018. His European Tour win at Himmerland earned him a card on the European Challenge Tour.
